Thanks for your patience with me! :) I just fixed the command channel and save-with-replace (save"@:abc",8) in svn. No release yet, there's still a bug in the mmc buffering system to be fixed. I guess that caused all the problems the Forum64 people were talking about.

Time for some action before the big christmas weariness.

If you still have some dfis on your MMCs and have a spare minute for lazy old baccy then please test the latest dfiplgin. Grab your copy here: http://developer.berlios.de/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7602&release_id=11828

This is the first release since the code was split into 2 banks. I'm pretty sure I broke many things, but creatures and castle of jasoom are still working! :)

Save, Scratch and scratch-save should also work now, but as always with a beta release: please be careful! Even though I ran a few tests, this release might modify data on your MMC, no matter where. This means: even other files than the dfi you opened might be modified. But don't worry: make a bakup of all important files on your MMC and nothing bad will happen. :)

This version has also new a clusterhandler. Mysterious problems like 'copy a dfi and it fails' should be gone with this release.

I still haven't found time for the game-fix requests, sorry! I did not forget you.

Just had a quick try of the latest plugin... don't have a lot of DFIs on my SD card, but last ninja 2 works! I'd like to find a game that saves high scores.

Will try to test more tonight.

Hey, I downloaded lastest dreamload, and it wont work. I got always same errormessage: Magic not found, too scared to continue. I tried that tnt fixed version, and it worked..
Can you guys help me?

My set: C64+MMC64+Retroreplay
and mmc64 bios is 1.3

And I have also problems with that cbmimager, when I try to save image program exits, or when I try to extract .d64 image program crashes.

I use WINXP+SP2

Thanks for all your tests and bugreports! I ruined the dreamload mode in the last release, that's why no magic could be found. The bug is already fixed and in svn, but no new release as I found another little problem. A simple Open/Get loop in basic to read a file works fine - as long as you ignore ST which is trashed somewhere with some strange value. :( I have to leave this bug open as I'm far away from home for the rest of the week. :(

I guess you are using "Extract file(s)" from the context menu (and not drag'n'drop). I tried this and it crashes here too, thanks for the bugreport.

Don't worry, even without the highscore file you're our hot dog champion! :) I'll have a look at winter games, maybe there's just another sick way of scratching. Could you try if saving in general works? Just write a basic oneliner and save it to a dfi.

That's a good idea, I'll do this for one of the next releases. I'm thinking about the standard RR FKey map, would this be ok?

yeaa, champion in eating hot dogs  but seriously, how will someone believe it when i cannot show him the score?? would have to keep my 64 running and running just to prove it...

RR-keymapping? Would be great!!

could you tell me the correct command line for saving? or is it simply save"name",8 ?

best regards!!

Hello,

big thanks for this plugin.

sadly world games does not run at all for me, but california games does, and it does not save too.

i found something out, which could help find the bug:

if you delete the savegame file, californa games starts up with a empty highscore list, if you compete any event then, a new savegame file is created with correct highscore, but california games locks after saving, on new start, the new highscore file is loaded, but saving does not work anymore from there on

so the problem may be somewhere in the area of deleting files or overwriting files

i was thinking the same ... but for world games i must say that the mmc behaves strangely quite often. try to delete the dfi, make a new drawer or something else to copy a "new" dfi-image of world games to your mmc. or try on a "warm" c64 - got to be turned on for some minutes. also turn the c64 off for a second or two after loading of a dfi failed before you give it a new try.

Many times I get to read that California Games shall work. Well, probably people saying that never played it that far.
When selecting "Compete in all events", the first couple will work (Half Pipe, Foot Bag, Surfing, Skating). However, when loading the event after Skating (which is BMX), the C64 loads for a few seconds and then crashes.
Maybe some not yet supported routine? Baccy?
