My problem is simple: I mounted my RR+RR-Net in the nice new hard cases from Jens, but I didn't mount a switch for flashing, only for bank selection. I want to upgrade to TFR 0.8, but I can't seem to get the damn case open :) The locking mechanism is a lot sturdier than the one in old C= cartridges, which break open quite easily. Does anyone know how to open it without breaking it? |

It's almost impossible. I guess you tried it already but take a small flat head screwdriver, stick it in the "crack" and go around the case bending just a millimeter at a time.. with some luck you might eventually get it to open. Chanses are that you'll break off the tiny pins holding it together, but don't worry, some super glue will get it back in one piece in no time at all

This is the very strategy that I'm hoping to avoid, as it'll leave permanent marks on the case :) |

What i did was stick the screwdriver in from the front, where the connector is at the sides and you can reach behind the plastic fastenings in the front(needs a quite small screwdriver). Gently pry it apart as you wiggle the screwdriver in deeper behind the plastic fastenings. Once you get one of them to give its not that hard to get it open. |

I also opened mine from front of cart with small screwdriver and wiggling cart from side to side in your hand using thumbs to hold pressure to open cart screwdrive goes inside where cart pokes out so cant see any marks you might make.. building a cart with screws to hold closed would be great.... Solar panels to power c64 built in supercpu with ramlink and and. sorry got carried away panels would'nt work indoors... |

Sticking the screwdriver in under the edge connector worked, but there's a risk that you'll scratch something...Royal PITA to open these hard cases! |

Does it help to say that they are easily opened by simply twisting them if there's no PCB inside? ..guess not
