Hi, Wondering if it would be possible to combine all the following into one cartridge design. My main reason is 1. I don't like drilling holes in my case's or modifying the guts of the machines if possible. 2. A cartridge is portable between my different machines. Cartridge contents. - Second SID + RCA Audio connector. - Reset button. - Flash memory. - Jiffy Dos (Maybe in the flash memory) + disable toggle switch. - REU (Up to 2MB or better). - Faster CPU (WDC 65816) + disable switch. - USB port for programming. The faster CPU would require code to be written and run from the cartridge to get compatibility. But I figure if the hardware exists then maybe someone would follow on with writing the code to support it. As far as I know there aren't any current Super CPU replacement projects on the go. Maybe this would be a good start? There is a lot of good reading about the 65816 here. http://supercpu.cbm8bit.com/scpu/ What do you think? .-.-. |

WOW Thats one tall order for a cart for sure. Way outside of my skill level thats for sure. |

Take away the Second SID + RCA Audio connector and USB port for programming. You just discribed a excelerator project i was discussing in length with a local Commodore enthusiest that certainly has the skills too build a project. So you never know you may get part of your wish list. Add onboard storage of files and USB transfer of files to the list below. I wonder if they would consider adding the SID socket and connector to their project then? Shouldn't be a lot of extra work. .-.-. |
