Got a quick question for you guys. I have a MMC Replay. I saw in the Options Menu that I can boot to Commodore 64 mode on boot and hold the Commodore Key down to enter the menu. My question is, when I do this does it prevent anything from loading into RAM from it? Like not even having the Cartridge in?

By "tradition" this is how some carts disable themselves. Depending on if the cart can control the /EXROM line in the cartridge port or not, the cart can completely disable itself. If not the ROM will still be accessible. It's up to the software in the cartridge ROM to do this check though. Some carts, such as AR and TFC only uses the C= key to bypass the startup menu and still loads diskturbo, etc into RAM. So what really happens when you hold the C= key is depending on the cartridge!

yes, and due to some unfortunate circumstances ... configuring the mmcr so it drops to basic immediatly is the *only* way to make it not destroy any ram content at poweron (or reset). the cartridge will not disable itself completely though (not in the current bios anyway).
