Doc B's .DFI-plugin never worked with my Retro Replay/MMC 64 setup. The only way to read .dfi's have been to use TNT's .dfi plugin in Kernal mode.

I also have never been able to get the lower bank og the RR to work, I flashed the upper bank (using TNT's MMC64 Retro Replay flasher) with the latest Cyberpunx rom and that's the only one I'm allowed to use it seems.

When mounting a .d64 image (using TNTs .d64 mounter) the RR seems to have problems reading the disks correctly, and whenever I press D to show the directory before mounting the disk, the dir comes out all scrambled with strange characters.

Are the problems connected? Am I a moron or is my RR broken?

Thank you for any help!

I can't comment on the rest of your questions, but I have also had problems with the directory listing when using TNT's .d64 mounter. I have not had any other problems with my RR though.

I'm guessing the scrambled directory has more to do with your MMC64 or MMC card configuration than the RR. It seems odd that you can only flash one bank though. Which RR cart revision (revision number and color are of interest) do you have and when was it bought ?

bbraun: Ok... Good to know!
RaveGuru: "Revised edition October 2004", red card.

Yes, it definetely looks to me like it's broken in the way that I'm unable to choose bank...

Sometimes when a program just won't run, it does help to do a "configure memory" from the (Cyberpunx Retro Replay) menu.

A strange thing though: On my two C64s, that menu says "Silfersurfer found - enabled", while on my C128D it says "disabled". I do not have any Silversurfer on any computer...

I'd write a mail to Jens Schoenfeldt with all the details in this post. He's very helpful although very busy (response can take a while).

Oh, and before you write that mail, did you try to flash the cart on your other computers, the C128 for instance?

Ah! Sorry for very late answer.

Yes, the flashing seems to work perfectly on my new C64C, so that's alright. But it still seems to have certain problems, IE. I can never get the .DFI version of the HVSIDS 10th anniversary edition to load more than the first song. It crashes no matter what, and so does several of the .DFI files....

Well, the DFI (DreamLoad) loader is under development and still very Beta, so that might be perfectly normal behaviour :) I'm sure Doc.Bacardi would like more feedback, so please post your DFI problems in the DreamLoader topic:

Yep, I have to admit that the Kernal mode still has many problems. DreamLoad mode is another story though. It's already stable and especially great productions like '10 years hvsc' run very well.

Grasstust, does 10YearsHVSC work if you connect only your MMC (and not the RR)? Did you manage to run any dfi? If yes, are they stable or do they only run from time to time? I can also send you some stresstests which do nothing but load and compare the data.

Feedback! Feedback is always good.
