So you have to use a VGA display when using the Chameleon then?

no, the normal video keeps working, you could use both at the same time (and even dualscreen with different content using the new chameleon modes)

So the cart actually controls all the circuits like the CIA's and SID, or are they emulated as well?

its more or less a full c64, minus the SID.

I am sorry, but, wouldn't a s-video to vga coverter work just as good?

no, not at all, the picture from the chameleon is a LOT sharper, and pixel exact to the vic output. you can get nothing like that from a vga-box.

as jens posted, a first small batch will be produced ASAP. then some selected people will get those for testing. and then we will see how good or bad it really works, and how long it will take to make the fpga core perfect (and write the software for the interface) :)

Whats up with the Chameleon 64.

The Ethernet does not work in stand alone mode. :( Disapointing.

other than that so far i am happy with it and the pace of the software fix's.

Ahh... the long awaited Chameleon. I had almost forgot about it. Please share your experiences.....

How is the 1541 emulation? Equal to 1541U?

Edit: Another thing I've been thinking about.. The VGA output is 60Hz, right? But all PAL software is in 50Hz. Doesn't it mean that there will be a lot of tearing / stuttering when the picture gets "re-sampled" in 60Hz? Like when running VICE on a LCD in 60hz. How does it handle that?
