did anyone of you NTSC-users encounter the following problem with the 3.8b ROM (NTSC):

When typing TOOL to save the FlashUtil, the Computer hangs up in an endless loop never fininshing writing to disk...

I cannot test with a real NTSC machine - only with Vice in NTSC Emulation.

*afaik* the broken saver in the ntsc version is a known bug. (however, i wouldnt trust vice at all when it comes to ntsc)

Yes, that is a bug. From what I heard it should hopefully be fixed soon. If you need the current flash program you can download it from my site. Unless it is on this one.

Hmm.. Just to clearify things: The old FlashUtility v0.05 works on all except the red board, right? And if I understand it correctly the latest Hannenz patched 3.8 works with all boards?

The red board can only use the 3.8. But, the 3.8patched version does not work for me. I had to use the original 3.8. With Bank 1 empty it shows a garbled header and will not clear the bank.

Huh?!
The 3.8P's FlahUtility was patched by me to EXPLICITLY work on the red- board-RRs!
And it works fine with mine.
@65coupie6: what problem do you have with the FlashUtility 3.8P???

EDIT: Just tested:

* loaded FlashUtility 3.8P & run
* cleared Bank 1
* (Re-)Flashed it with RR3.8P-ROM

everything ok with my red board!

I will try it again and see what happens. This is with a new board not flashed with anyting on Bank 1. I have to flash all the ones I have to the NTSC ROM before I sell them so I will see what happens.

EDIT:
Ok I tried it on a few other boards and it works fine. It might have just been that board or maybe me (Most likely it was me :) )

So when is someone going to work on a patched 3.8b NTSC ROM ;)

thanx for re-checking! I am glad that there is no mistake in the 3.8P ROM!

I wanted to do a patched NTSC-ROM 3.8P, but (this is why i started this thread) there IS a bug in the Saver (that saves the FlashUtility to Disk by TOOL), which I cannot fix.
I had contact with Count0 and he said this will be fixed with the next update, whenever that will be.
You'll have to use the FlashUtility 3.8P as stand alone so long...
