Is it possible to patch the DTV kernel to use JiffyDOS? I think one of the main issues with the DTV is the loading times. But with JD and a 1581 it would be a blizz.

Very nice indeed, but no 1581 support it seems. I can't really think of why JD shouldn't work on DTV though as DTV implements full IEC support and JD is just a patched standard C64 kernel replacement... Right?

The IEC timing on the DTV is slightly off, causing some loaders to fail. JiffyDOS is one of them.

That's a bummer. However, somebody at Petscii Forumssuggested that JD is actually already badly timed for PAL (thus PAL 128DCR have problems with JD) ... if the timing in PAL JD was better it may as well work with DTV. Patching anyone?

Btw, what is the SuperJiffyDOS patch? Never heard of it before....

JiffyDOS works great on my:

C128
C64 old model
C64C
C128D plastic model
C128 DCR

Really... no PAL problems there... never been.

I've never heard of any real-world problems on PAL also, but according to this threadthe timing for PAL JD is just on the limit, and because the DTV timing is just slightly off, it fails. My point was if it was possible to "correct" the timing to work on DTV.

Yes, the JD kernal could be patched so that it would work on the DTV, just adjust it to account for the timing difference.
