I keep ttrying to search for posts related to Contiki, and I keep getting refusals from the forum system about this. Below is the message.

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: contiki release
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

How can the word "Contiki" be a common word ??

Hi and welcome to the forum! Thanks for pointing this out. I'm afraid that the forum database was damaged during the last forum update and some inconsistencies still remains. I'm still trying to find a way to do a non-destructive repair, which unfortunately only seems to be possible by manually examining and editing the SQL database :|

There is also a problem sending PM's related to broken database.

Suggestions are welcome!

I looked into the problem and it turns out that the word contiki actually makes up over 7% of all the words on this forum, so i bumped the threshold to 10% so now contiki is searchable again.

Thanks again for the find!

no problem, glad I could help

just one small question,
wouldn't 10% threshold be a little on the low side ?

You are probably right. The default value is only 5% though. I'm afraid that the amount of words that will "slip through" get quite exponential by raising the threshold only by a few %. But if it happens again I know how to fix it now :)
