I wish to edit my .html files saved to floppy's on a c128 or c64.

First using notepad or word i create the file.html file then transfer them to
a real c64 floppy using star commander etc.

What i would like to do is place the floppy in my c128 and edit the .html files without
using a windows or linux box. easy! well you would think so.
When i open my files using a txt editor on the c128/64 i get hyroglifics and some numbers
but no txt. ? tried bb mini office II and super script.

I thought a txt file was a txt file on any machine.

Does anyone know of a editor for the c128/64 that will edit txt files created on a windows or linux machine.
Should i be using a file editor. ?

Try switching charset by pressing SHIFT+CBM with a normal editor. It will switch you between the GRAPHIC SYMBOLS and ASCII charset.

Are the files on disk as PRG or as SEQ ?

Try using TMP (Turbo Macro Pro) or Turbo Assembler. Both allow you easy edit of text files (source files are text files), even though they are assemblers

As for real text editors, you could give C64WORD a try. Never used it myself though...

Thanks for the link, I've been looking for a simple editor for the C64. Unfortunately, this crashed to READY. whenever I try to load/save, even on a stock C64 or in VICE. Anyone else try it?

I also had to hex-edit the CW64.EXE file and add 01 08 to the front so it would load properly.
