The end of 2006 is near and I just wanted to say a few words. The past year has been a good one for retro hacking indeed. The hardware such as Retro Replay, RR-net and MMC64 has been around for a good while now, but it's not until recently that the software development has taken off for real. We've seen lots of amazing software being released during the year and even more has come under development.

2006 has also been the year where we've seen new hardware and software reaching out to a bigger and broader crowd. Evidence for this can be seen all over the net: From posts and discussions on the bulletins and forums to new internet hardware shops emerging, as the interest and demand for new hardware has increased. Although these shops may being run mainly by enthusiast for serving a small community of other enthusiasts, it is still enough to encourage a small commerical market, which in turn can help fueling further development of hardware and software.

And if that's not enough of an evidence, then there is YOU, all the people who registered on rrforum during the year. To all of you I just want to say Thank You for contributing of making rrforum the international forum for Retrohackers in 2006. At least for me, this has been just as much of social experience as of a technical one, and for this I'm truly grateful.

This much said, I just can't wait to see how things will develop during the upcoming year. We have many interesting things to look forward to in 2007. New hardware will see the day, such as the SuperSnapshot cartridge and the IDE64 V4 with clockport. Will we see a new stand-alone network cartridge with a reborn Net64? Fabulous new hardware is being brewed in the basements around the globe as we speak, not to mention all amazing software that is in the works for our beloved 8bit machinery. Together, we can make 2007 another milestone in C= hacking history! Will you participate?

See you all in 2007 !!! :D
